Before tarot follows upon the concept introduced with his twin deck After Tarot. The reference is the traditional English school vision of the Arcana. While the After Tarot portrays the familiar images just one moment after and focuses on the consequences and development, the Before Tarot sets its focus one moment before. The keywords to this deck are anticipation, and foresight.
This deck by Pietro Alligo and Floreana Nativo with artworks by Eon and Simona Rossi, gives us the impression that the still images we are so familiar with, are not so still as we thought, but are only a snap shot of the whole scene in motion.
